-The last outlets that were left to try were the ones in the kitchenette area. -When I tried using one of those, the lights in the room flickered, there was a pop and a spark about the size of a nickel that came out of the outlet.
I was booked for two nights and could not even stay for 3 hours.
Craziest experience in a hotel ever. We first found a garden hoe in our room. I can't make this up. Our sheets had blood on them and were dirty. There were stains and hair on the pillow. Missing light fixtures and outlets falling out of the wall. Were told we could not receive clean comforters and couldn't receive enough cups to drink out of. Would give no stars if I could. Would not recommend.
Definitely the lowest level of decor and Furnishings in any extended stay hotel I've been in. Room is very tiny. Facial soap was like marble with a bit of stickiness on it. You have to request that the desk provide dishes and toaster and coffee pot. The closet was just a curtain. And in all of my 60 years of travel I have never seen any place double pillows over and stuff them into themselves. I do not understand the motivation for this waste of time and energy.
-The chairs were dirty, stained, and broken.
Check in took over 4 hours to check in. Countless customers during that time were leaving due to dirty rooms, marijuana found in one room and roaches and bugs in another. I would not recommend this hotel for the safety of your family and children.
-The bathtub had hair in it and didn't look like it had been cleaned.
If I could give ZERO or negative stars and still leave a review comment, I would. I contacted the district manager months ago and still have had no response. I am not by any means very picky about the hotels I stay in, but this was beyond awful. I was there for maybe 2-2.5 hours before my husband called the guest relations services to cancel the rest of our stay and were told we would be refunded for the second night. That refund never happened and now Extended Stay says they have "proof" that I stayed both nights. There can be no proof as I didn't even stay for one night! This is absolutely ridiculous and I can't believe it's been this long with no response aside from someone telling our bank that we stayed when we didn't. Here's some of my email to the district manager (who never responded) for anyone thinking about staying here:
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! RUN FAR AND RUN FAST!!!!!!
-The dresser drawers wouldn't shut all the way.
-None of the outlets I tried in the main area worked for charging my phone, my laptop, or my battery for my heart rate monitor.
The room was unacceptable; the one good thing I can say about it is that the bed was made and it appeared there had been a "surface clean" of the room.
-The wall decor frames were scratched or broken (including the mirror in the bathroom).
-The "peephole" had wadded up cotton or paper in it, blocking anyone from seeing who was at their door.
-The toilet seat looked like it had been melted, either by fire or acid or both.
-The reflective glass on the bathroom mirror was scratched off in the corner and edges.
-There were industrial sized trashcans (not dumpsters) located by the stairs filled with several days' worth of rancid, rotting garbage.
-The fridge had brown stains on it, rust stains on the inside linings. The inside smelled of bleach, so maybe it was cleaned at least.
I arrive to the hotel and go to the lobby. The lobby was the size of a matchbox with only one person working the front desk and there were people in line out the door trying to check in. As I was waiting to check in (which took about an hour) I witnessed person after person complain about something. People’s reservations were lost, room keys didn’t work after 3 attempts, bugs crawling out of the vent in the bathroom, room not getting cleaned even once in a week despite multiple requests from the guest, then it’s finally my turn. First I was told that my original room on the first floor wasn’t available because it hadn’t been cleaned (this was at 6pm). Then I was told that I would be moved to another room on the 3rd floor (no elevator, stairs only). Then came the final blow. I was then reassured that the room would be the same. “Don’t worry”, the woman boasts. “Your new room will be exactly the same. You’re still getting a Queen size bed!” Hahaha. I laughed. Just one bed I asked? I reserved a room with 2 beds since I didn’t want to spoon with my ugly, greasy, business colleague. In a queen sized bed no less. Ending this sad song, I told the front desk woman to cancel my reservation. Thank god there was a room available across the street at the Hilton. Looks like my roommate will be sleeping on the couch. The Extended Stay is possibly the most unorganized and poorly managed hotel I’ve ever seen. It’s sort of run down too. I didn’t have the pleasure of seeing the inside of a room but I have a feeling it would have been a rat hole. The hotel deserves 0 stars but perhaps I would be willing to give a 1/5 star review since the woman working at the front desk was at least very polite and was trying her best despite PISS POOR management and ownership. The owner/manager should be ashamed of himself for running such a HELL HOLE property.
