At this point I'm expecting to be ignored but I call the agent again anyway but of course same problem; no answer, leave voicemail, no call-back. I email them again asking for an update and finally get confirmation that they sent the check which I received about 6 weeks after my collision.
I can't speak for how their treat their policy holders but should you ever have to deal with them as a non-policy holder then I have pity for you.
The person who I spoke to was nice and gave me the claim number and transferred me to the agent responsible for the claim but he did not answer. I left a voicemail and waited for him to call me back which he never did. It took 2 more phone calls (and one more voicemail) before I was ever able to reach the agent. He told me I needed to email the police report over so I did the following day. At this point it has been about 2 weeks since my collision.
About 6 weeks ago I was sideswiped by a driver under their policy. We did a police report then went on our separate ways. The following Friday I picked up my police report and called Auto Owners to try to file a claim. I was told to call a different number/company but was not given any details on who to talk to or what extension to use so I had to guess and hope I got to the right person. After a transfer or two I was finally able to speak to somebody about the claim but they said it was already filed by the policy owner so I had to call Auto Owners back.
After waiting for about another week with no updates or call-backs I decided to call the agent again, but as before, no answer. I left a voicemail an still no call-back. I sent an email to them requesting an update and finally got a call back from the agent. I was told they accepted responsibility for the collision and that I needed to send them repair estimates which I did the following day. We're now at about 4 weeks since the collision.
HORRIBLE CON-ARTISTS
I will say that nobody that I spoke to was rude but the whole process was a huge effort on my part. I wouldn't have minded the long wait if they didn't keep me in the dark the whole time. The very least they could have done was contacted me first and kept me updated on the status.
This is one of the very best insurance companies around. Sound financials, sound leadership.

Worst customer service I have ever dealt with of any company. It's been weeks since my claim and my car is still not taken care of. I have had to call back multiple times for every step because no one will ever call me back or take care of anything. Complete NIGHTMARE.
I dealt with a rude agent. I hate I have to go through anything dealing with an accident and to be hit by 18 wheeler who wasn't paying attention, the insurance rep Vincent is very rude he shows no empathy/sympathy its sad. Hate to write things like this but customer service is always #1.
